The story
Kakubha Ragini — a young woman lovesick for her absent lord. She has left her fine palace for the forest, a garland in each hand, and again and again she stirs the peacocks to their cry, forgetting soul and body in the thought of him. Painted on a coral ground with banana leaves unfurling and two peacocks at her feet, in my own hand after the Ragamala.
