Urvashi Impressions
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 July 2026
The short version. This site is a catalogue, not a shop counter — nothing is bought on it. Every piece is painted by hand, so no two are identical. The artwork remains Urvashi Soni's, and buying a piece does not buy the right to reproduce it.
These terms cover your use of www.urvashiimpressions.com("the site"), run by Urvashi Soni from her studio in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. By using the site you accept them.
1. What this site is
The site shows the work of the atelier and what is available. It has no checkout: prices are shown so you know where a piece stands, and buying begins with a message — on Instagram, through the commission enquiry form, or by email.
Because of that, nothing on this site is a binding offer to sell. A sale exists only once the two of you have agreed the piece, the price and the delivery in that conversation.
2. Prices and availability
- Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) and may change. The price that counts is the one confirmed to you when you enquire.
- Shipping, packing and any taxes or duties are separate from the price shown, and are settled in the conversation before anything is sent.
- Most originals are one of one. When a piece is marked sold, it is gone — the nearest thing available is a commission in the same spirit, which will be a new painting rather than a copy.
3. It is hand-painted, and that shows
Everything is painted by hand in watercolour on handmade paper. That is the point of it, and it has consequences worth stating plainly:
- Colour, texture, deckled edges and fine detail vary from piece to piece. Small irregularities are the mark of the hand, not a fault.
- Screens differ. A colour on your phone or monitor will not be exactly the colour of the paper in front of you.
- Where a piece is offered as a print rather than an original, it is described as a print, and its details on the page describe the print rather than the painting.
4. Commissions
Sending an enquiry costs nothing and commits you to nothing — it starts a conversation. A commission begins only when the subject, size, price and timing have been agreed between you and the studio.
Because a commission is painted for you specifically, any deposit, schedule and cancellation arrangement is agreed at that point, in writing, before painting starts. Timelines given before then are estimates: a painting is finished when it is finished.
5. Delivery, and if something arrives damaged
Pieces are packed with care and sent from India, within the country and internationally on request. Delivery times depend on the carrier and, for international orders, on customs. Any import duties or local taxes are the buyer's responsibility — they are charged by your country, not by the studio.
The specific delivery method, cost and timing are agreed with you before dispatch, along with what happens in the unlikely event of loss or damage in transit. If a piece reaches you damaged, or is not what was described, tell us as soon as you notice — with a photograph if you can — and it will be put right. Get in touch before returning anything, so the return can be arranged safely; artwork sent back unannounced and unprotected rarely survives the journey.
6. Copyright in the artwork
Every painting, photograph, illustration and word on this site belongs to Urvashi Soni. Buying a piece buys the physical object. It does not transfer the copyright, which stays with the artist.
So: please do not reproduce, print, resell as an image, or make derivative works from anything here, and do not use any of it commercially or to train a machine-learning model, without written permission. Sharing a picture of a piece you own, or of work you like, with credit and a link, is welcome and always has been.
7. Using the site
You agree not to:
- scrape or bulk-download the images, or republish the catalogue elsewhere;
- use the enquiry form to send spam, or anything unlawful, threatening or abusive;
- attempt to break into, overload or interfere with the site.
8. Accuracy and availability
The site is offered as is. We describe each piece as carefully as we can, but do not warrant that every detail is free of error, or that the site will always be available. Descriptions and availability can change without notice.
To the extent the law allows, the studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited, or our responsibility for the piece you actually buy.
9. Privacy
What the site collects and what happens to it is set out in the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan have jurisdiction over any dispute.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top shows when they last were. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones in force when it was agreed.
