Urvashi Impressions
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This page is kept in English only, so that its wording stays exact. The rest of the site is available in your language.
The short version. This site has no accounts, no shopping cart, no mailing list and no cookies. The only personal information it ever receives is what you type into the commission enquiry form, and that is used for one thing: replying to you.
Urvashi Impressions is the studio of Urvashi Soni, painting contemporary Indian miniature art in Jaipur, India. This page explains what the website at www.urvashiimpressions.com collects, what happens to it, and who else is involved.
1. What the site collects
There is exactly one place on this site where you can give us personal information: the commission enquiry form on the Commissions page. When you submit it, it sends:
- your name, as you typed it;
- your email address, so a reply can reach you;
- the kind of piece you selected (an original painting, a journal cover, a bookmark set, or something else);
- your message — the description of what you have in mind;
- the language you were reading the site in, and, if you started from a particular artwork, which piece it was. These two just help us reply sensibly.
That is the entire list. The form asks for no postal address, no phone number and no payment details, and there is nowhere else on the site that collects anything about you.
2. What happens to an enquiry
Two things, in this order:
- It is written to a file on our own server, so that an enquiry is never lost if the email step fails.
- It is emailed to the atelier's inbox, with the reply address set to yours so that Urvashi can simply reply. That inbox is a Google (Gmail) account, so Google handles the message in the ordinary way it handles email.
Your enquiry is read by Urvashi. It is not passed to anyone else, not sold, not added to any mailing list, and you will not receive marketing because you wrote to us. The server also counts how many enquiries have recently come from a given internet address, purely to stop the form being used for spam; that count is short-lived and is not kept as a record of you.
3. Buying happens on Instagram, not here
This site is a catalogue. There is no checkout on it, and it never handles card, bank or payment details of any kind. When you tap Enquire on a piece, you are taken to Instagram to message the studio directly.
That conversation happens on Instagram, under Instagram's own privacy policy, not this one — Meta can see that you messaged us and what was said, in the same way as any other Instagram conversation. If you would rather not use Instagram, the enquiry form or a plain email works just as well.
4. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. It is a deliberately privacy-preserving choice: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other sites. What it reports is aggregate — page views, referring site, country, browser type — and never anything that identifies you personally.
This is also why the site has no cookie banner: there is nothing optional being stored on your device to ask you about.
5. Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies at all. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for anything.
One small thing is kept in your browser's local storage: the language you chose in the switcher, so that the site opens in it next time. It stays on your device, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
The typefaces are served from this site itself rather than from Google Fonts, so simply reading a page makes no request to Google or to any other outside company.
6. Where it is kept
The website and the small service behind the enquiry form both run on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Traffic between your browser and the site is encrypted with HTTPS.
7. Who else is involved
The complete list of outside companies that touch anything:
- Amazon Web Services — hosts the site and the enquiry service.
- Cloudflare — the cookieless visitor analytics in section 4.
- Google — the Gmail inbox that your enquiry is delivered to.
- Meta / Instagram — only if you choose to message us there, as in section 3.
There is no advertising network, no data broker, no tracking pixel and no customer-relationship tool. Nothing about you is sold or rented to anybody, ever.
8. How long it is kept, and how to have it deleted
Enquiries are kept while a commission is being discussed and for a reasonable period afterwards, as a record of what was agreed. They are not kept indefinitely for no reason.
You can ask us at any time to delete your enquiry and the email it produced, or to send you a copy of it, or to correct something in it. Email urvashiimpressions@gmail.com from the address you used and it will be done — there is no form to fill in and no reason we would refuse.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, and in particular if you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to our holding it at all. In practice that is a single email to the address above.
The lawful basis for handling your enquiry is straightforward: you sent it in order to get a reply, and replying is what we do with it.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children, and the enquiry form is meant for people old enough to commission a piece of artwork.
11. Changes to this policy
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
12. Contact
Any question about privacy — including anything on this page you think is wrong — email urvashiimpressions@gmail.com. The studio is based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
